Bible Verses for a New Home

What better way to bless a new house than to imprint bible verses into the bones of the house itself? Before the drywall got installed in our new home, Chris and I took a trip to the house to write a couple of our favorite bible verses on the beams. I love the idea that these will always be a part of the house, and a part of our home. I saw this idea on Instagram and knew immediately it was something I wanted to steal for our own home.

We chose different verses for different rooms, and I thought I’d share one of the quotes with you and why it’s so meaningful for us.

I have found the one whom my soul loves, Song of Solomon 3:4.

Before we got married, Chris and I did a premarital counseling course with the pastor who married us. The entire program was based on Song of Solomon, and together, we really dissected the book, learning what the different verses mean and how they represent a Godly love. That particular book is full of extremely colorful language that had a different meaning at the time it was written, so we learned so much studying it and interpreting the meaning behind the verses. Our paster was so knowledgeable and we both took away so much from that experience. Song of Solomon will always hold a particularly special place in our hearts, and we decided to write this well-known quote on a beam in our master bedroom to remind us of the pure and selfless love we try to bring into our marriage.

xoxo,
Amanda
